Sophmoric Humor and other Observations

So we're busily learning about "Edge" organizations and how the yellow buses should be fitted with GPS trackers so that bus companies can interact directly with the parents and take that responsibility away from the school districts, and all of a sudden we need to get another "chalkboard." So the professor lifts up that section, and lo and behold, we once again realize that sophmoric humor is still pretty funny for the undergrad sophmores. It read:

"Don't Be A Loner, Get A Boner"

The whole class chuckled at the absurdity of it, and our professor quickly got rid of the offending remark -- still, it only serves as a reminder that going to grad school brings back those college days.

And another interesting piece from the BBC:

Apparently, this Swedish town makes this huge straw goat and every year someone goes and torches the thing, one apparently not even making it through it's first night in the wild.

"No-one is going to get our goat this year," says a local spokeswoman with confidence.

You know, it must be a lot of work to make this huge goat of straw, and I feel really bad for the people that make the thing -- they put a lot of hard work into it and then some young punk kids up and burn the thing -- that sucks, man, royally -- although a flaming arrow a la Men In Tights would be humorous... "Every time they make a Robin Hood film they burn our village!"
