Chris Ballew - Robert Goulet On The River Nile

The lyrics floating around the web have a few errors in them -- and I'm not quite sure whether he's saying "Eating Gourmet" -- because the next line says "her" -- so could it be like "Edith" or "Eden" Gourmet? I guess we'll never know!

Not at all! I'll leave that previous paragraph as a testament to pain and agony ;-) , because I figured it out -- Eydie Gormé!!! Other links: Mel Tormé -- and we'll certainly remember him from Night Court -- and of course Robert Goulet -- not only did he have a hilarious moment in Scrooged, everyone's favorite Christmas Movie with Bill Murray, but he's also a Massachusetts native -- and French Canadian! "Comment ca went" and other such triflings :-) That discovery of the Eydie Gormé really makes me happy because it was totally driving me crazy -- now I'll just need to figure out a song she sung and listen to what she actually sounds like!

-----------

Standing up high on a mountain top
Looking at the valley below
Mary Poppins flies by on a rattlesnake and
I bury my head in the Egyptian snow

Robert Goulet on the River Nile
Blue moon winking at the sky
Lucky Strike stuck in his big ol' smile
Crouching in the weeds
I watch the boat float by

They float by
They float by

Mel Torme kissing a camel lip
His pinky ring glistenin' in the sun
Back-up band is a monkey and a horse
Mel can barely bow when the band is done
Eydie Gormé on a bi-plane wing
Her silver tooth blinding the crowd
Pilot does a barrell roll flip and stallin
And a chorus girl mosh pit breaks her fall

We brake her fall
Brake her fall
Yeah
Do-do-do-do-do-do
