Ubuntu 11.04 and Hyper-V

So how impressed was I that Ubuntu 11.04 includes the Hyper-V drivers right there from the get go on the installation CD? Pretty impressed - and of course you still need to do the /etc/gdm/custom.conf to get the [xdmcp] Enable=true, but that also works like a charm and is no longer super hidden under a rock - not that many people using it are going to go through the effort, but, works well :-)

So how did you do it? Without the mouse, I cannot figure out to open a terminal in the Hyper-V Ubuntu virtual machine. What exactly do I need to do to get the mouse working? Thank.

Also, is it possible to have Unity working within Hyper-V? Thanks.

I'm with Jason. The lack of a mouse and any obvious way to get to a terminal is maddening.

One clue I have found Jason. Is that hyper-v manager doesn't pass through the function keys until you enter full screen mode. So I was able to do a couple of things but still no terminal.

On a similar note. I want to install Ubuntu JeOS but I can't pass F4 into the installer.

This is likely a hyper-v manager bug but I'm not certain.

If anybody wants to know, you can type CTRL+ALT+T to get a Terminal to open.
