So yeah -www.homelink.com - instructions and everything on how to program your rear view mirror garage door opener! If only Subaru was helpful enough to put in those instructions or at least link off to them!

Universal NetBoot Installer

Ever need to install a computer, you have (or need) the .iso, and it doesn't have (the appriopriate) CD-ROM drive? How about the universal netboot installer - unetbootin. It'll take your distro or iso and with the help of netboot it will make your USB thumb drive bootable. For the linux inclined, it will automagically download your installer and do it, or let you provide your own - absolutely fabulous!

Tivo Peanut Remote Controllers!

So the Tivo clickers were totally not working right even though I had punched in the codes months ago - but sure enough over the past day I got both working! 0128 for the Vizio with the Series 3 clicker and 0126 for the Sylvania with the Series 2 clicker. Bizarre!

ESXi 4 installation problems and solutions

So - what's a gent to do on a Dell PowerEdge T105 and ESXi 4? Apparently not install it on the included SATA drives :-)

The error I was receiving was "Failed to Find Boot Partition" - and apparently this can happen if the SATA drives are in AHCI mode instead of the older straight IDE mode - and it doesn't look like that option is in the BIOS of the PE T105 (unlike other Dell machines - this one can also prevent Windows XP from installing properly).

Solution? Boot off of a USB drive, or change the BIOS settings (if you can!) Or get a RAID Controller. Or use SAS drives. Or TOE (?) :-) Anyways, have fun!
